The promoter announced that there will be “two concerts in his own name that promise to be moments of deep celebration of identity, memory, and emotion,” according to a press release.
Paulo Flores, aged 53, released his latest album ‘Canções que fiz pra quem me ama’ last April, featuring several musicians, including Bonga, Kiari Flores, Manecas Costa, Diogo Guanabara, Pry Santos, and Ivo Costa.
Described by the promoter as a “pioneer of semba and a central figure in the Kizomba movement in the 80s,” Paulo Flores has a 38-year artistic career, starting in 1988 as a teenager.
The musician has released over a dozen albums, such as ‘Independência’ (2021), inspired by the history of Angola’s independence, ‘Kandongueiro Voador’ (2018), and ‘Bolo de Aniversário’ (2016), to mention a few of the most recent works.
Paulo Flores also published the EP ‘No Tempo das Bessanganas’ with musician Yuri da Cunha and the album ‘A Benção e a Maldição’ in the Esperança project with rapper Prodígio.
