The Camões Prize 2025 has been awarded to Ana Paula Tavares, recognizing “her prolific and coherent trajectory of aesthetic creation, and especially her restoration of dignity to Poetry,” stated the jury in a release issued today by DGLAB.
“The Jury emphasized that, with the diction of her uncompromising lyricism and the unrestrained commitments of her production in chronicles and narrative fiction, Ana Paula Tavares’ work also gains significant anthropological dimension in historical perspective,” the statement noted.
