Prime Minister António Costa said today in Ovar, in the Aveiro district, that the country’s growth is the result of the way the economy works and the activity of businesses.

“It is in the growth of business activity that the country develops,” said António Costa, at the end of a visit to three industrial units in the Aveiro district that have benefited from public financial support in recent years.

In a final assessment of the day, the head of government said he had seen in all the companies he had visited a willingness to “continue to develop their business”, which represents a “sign of confidence” for the country.

“When companies that have invested are satisfied with their investment and have the prospect of investing again, it’s a sign of great confidence in our future,” he said.

On Wednesday, António Costa began the “Agenda + Growth” roadmap, which will take him over the coming weeks to a wide range of companies in several regions of the country, focusing on the ability to maintain and increase employment, business innovation and the contribution to increasing the weight of exports in GDP.

The itinerary began in the Aveiro district with a morning visit to Unibike, an electric bicycle production plant in Vagos. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister visited two automotive components companies: AAPICO in Águeda and KIRCHHOFF Automotive, in Ovar
