APA lifted restrictions on bathing at the Adaúfe river beach in Braga.

According to APA, a notice was placed on the beach advising against swimming due to “high results obtained in a sample from the complementary monitoring program, under the responsibility of the Braga municipality.”

APA reported a microbiological contamination with “high levels of intestinal enterococci and/or E. coli.”

“This bathing restriction was lifted today, June 20, at 12:00,” it adds.

The bathing water in Adaúfe, in the municipality of Braga, was subject to a swimming restriction on June 18 by placing a “do not swim” notice on site due to the high result obtained from the complementary monitoring program, managed by the Braga municipality.

This swimming restriction was lifted today, June 20, at 12:00, and the APA’s website has since been updated.

The quality of the water at Adaúfe Beach received a “Gold” award from the environmental association Quercus this year.

The beach also received a blue flag this bathing season.
