The application deadline for the Cheque-Formação + Digital, providing a 750-euro subsidy for digital training, has been extended until June 2026, as indicated on the Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional (IEFP) website.
“Applications can now be submitted for professional training actions in the digital domain starting from 28-09-2022, with the maximum completion date set for 30-06-2026,” the organization’s website states.
What is the Cheque-Formação + Digital?
It is a “support provided by the State through the IEFP to promote the development of digital skills, stimulating job maintenance, career advancement, and the employability of the national population.”
“Through this measure, workers undertaking digital skills training of their choice can be reimbursed up to a maximum of 750 euros, especially in areas such as cybersecurity, social networks, or data analysis,” explains the consumer defense organization.
Who can apply?
According to DECO PROTeste, “this support is available for employed individuals aiming to develop digital skills through certified training,” noting that “any worker can apply for this support, regardless of the nature of their employment contract,” including:
- employed workers;
- self-employed workers with business or professional income;
- individual business owners;
- partners of single-member companies;
- and public sector workers.

The measure “aims to support and encourage the development of skills and qualifications in the digital domain of workers,” as stated on the Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional (IEFP) website.

“Any worker, regardless of their employment relationship or job market situation, can use this measure to equip themselves with new skills and tools, to address potential job loss due to skill obsolescence or to meet the demands of a new job requiring new professional skills in an increasingly global, competitive, and constantly changing context,” is also noted on the IEFP website.
It should also be noted that this support can be used to pay for training in areas such as:
- productivity and collaboration tools;
- digital commerce;
- cybersecurity and information security;
- social media management;
- UX/UI design;
- data analysis;
- business intelligence;
- programming languages;
- robotics;
- CRM;
- automation systems;
- industry 4.0.
What is the support?
The “maximum support to be granted per recipient/candidate per year (a 12-month period from the date of submission of the first approved application within that period) is 750 euros.”
Applications must be submitted on the IEFP portal via this link.
“Each application can only cover one professional training action, although it can consist of a set of Units/Training Modules according to the Regulations concerning the focus in the digital domain,” it is explained.
Moreover, “The training can be conducted in-person, in a mixed format, or entirely at a distance.”
