Francisco Barbeira has been designated to succeed Luís Pereira Coutinho as the CEO of Banco CTT, pending the completion of fit and proper assessment procedures by the Bank of Portugal, as previously stated by the financial institution.
During his term until 2027, Barbeira, a former BPI executive, will work alongside four members on the Executive Committee. Pedro Coimbra will serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), João Mello Franco as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Nuno Fórneas as Chief Information Officer (CIO), and Inês Maia Santos as Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
The Board of Directors will continue to be led by José Castello Branco, who will also preside over the Remuneration Committee.
For the term from 2025 to 2027, the General Assembly will be chaired by Alexandre Lucena e Vale, the Audit Committee by João Loureiro, and the Selection and Compensation Committee by Raul Galamba de Oliveira.
“With this appointment, Banco CTT reinforces its commitment to solid, responsible management focused on creating sustainable value,” the bank stated in a release.
The new CEO had a long-standing career at BPI, starting in the 1990s, and left in early 2024 when he held a position as an executive director, according to his LinkedIn profile.
