The Imagine Dragons concert on Thursday will affect traffic and parking in several streets around Estádio da Luz in Lisbon starting Wednesday, as announced by the PSP.
The Public Security Police (PSP) also warned that parking reservations in various streets are necessary and advised the use of public transport, acknowledging that public transport will also be “heavily affected.”
The gates are set to open to the public at 5:00 PM on Thursday, but the PSP will begin earlier to oversee parking and vehicle movement.
Traffic will be restricted on Avenida Machado Santos (stadium side) from 8:00 AM Wednesday to midnight Thursday and on several streets converging with this road from 4:00 PM Thursday to 1:00 AM Friday.
Avenida Eusébio da Silva Ferreira (access to Park -3 and Avenida do Colégio Militar) and Rua João de Freitas Branco (near park 8 – Rotunda das Oliveiras) will face “heavy restrictions” from 4:00 PM Thursday, with potential total traffic closures before the end of the concert until 1:00 AM Friday.
In Praça Cosme Damião (“EMEL” Parking) restrictions will start from 4:00 PM Thursday, with potential traffic closures before the concert ends, until 2:00 AM Friday, and on Avenida do Colégio Militar (between Rua Galileu Galilei and Avenida Condes de Carnide) a traffic cut is expected before the concert ends until the complete dispersal of the crowd.
Regarding parking restrictions, the PSP informed that parking reservations will be needed in several streets, particularly on Avenida Machado Santos (stadium side) and the impasse at Rua João de Freitas Branco (near park 8 – Rotunda das Oliveiras), from 4:00 PM Wednesday to midnight Thursday.
On the opposite side of the stadium, Avenida Machado Santos will have 40 parking spaces available for reduced mobility from 4:00 PM Wednesday to midnight Thursday.
Parking at Praça Cosme Damião/”EMEL” Park will be restricted from 8:00 AM Wednesday to midnight on the concert day.
The PSP advised concertgoers to arrive early, considering security procedures at entrance points, and suggested avoiding bringing bags and backpacks into the stadium.
They also recommended that those traveling by private car follow PSP’s parking directions for concert-goer designated parking areas.
