“With the aim of simplifying access to free services, reducing unnecessary procedures, and ensuring greater efficiency in the system, TML is now discontinuing the monthly loading of the Youth Free Pass, encouraging extended loading,” the company announced in a statement.
Although the Youth Free Pass was introduced by TML in May 2024, first through the Navegante app and then through other channels, the option for monthly loading “continued to exist and some young people continue to load the pass monthly without needing to do so,” the company noted.
According to TML, the renewal of the extended loading must be done whenever the Navegante card expires, when the young person turns 19, or when they reach 24, the age at which the right to the free pass ends.
TML advised young people to “check their Navegante card status in advance” since if more than one active card is associated with the same tax identification number, the system will not allow the renewal of the free service.
“In such cases, it is necessary to regularize the situation before proceeding with the discount access update, as it is not possible to have two cards with free access for the same holder,” it explained.
