A 45-year-old man was arrested on Friday on suspicion of domestic violence against his wife and sexual abuse of his daughter, now 17 years old.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the Judicial Police (PJ) detailed that “following an investigation related to indications of domestic violence crimes by the suspect, the National Republican Guard activated the Judicial Police due to strong indications that the daughter had been subject to sexual abuse since she was 15.”
“Developed inquiries provided relevant and additional evidence, not only confirming the suspicions related to the daughter’s sexual abuse but also revealing that the domestic violence situation had persisted for several years,” the statement noted.
The man was brought before a court and has been remanded in custody under the most severe preventive detention measure.
