The Judiciary Police announced the arrest of a suspect accused of multiple child sexual abuse crimes that have been occurring since 2022 in Santa Maria da Feira, involving his stepdaughter.
“The victim, now 13 years old, had been abused since the age of 10, only recently disclosing the abusive acts to a teacher, prompting school officials to inform the Judiciary Police,” the statement detailed.
The Judiciary Police indicated that the accused exploited his parental authority over the minor and her vulnerability due to her age, noting that the abuse escalated in both frequency and severity.
The suspect, who has no criminal record, will face a preliminary judicial interrogation for the imposition of appropriate preventive measures.
