A Portuguese woman, aged 21, has been placed in preventive detention following a court decision. She was intercepted on Tuesday during a border control operation managed by the National Unit of Foreigners and Borders of the PSP.
The woman, en route to an unspecified European Union country, exhibited “suspicious behavior” during a document check. Agents noted her stay in Brazil was only two days, which prompted further investigation.
The PSP reports that the passenger, when questioned, provided incoherent responses regarding the reason for her travel, return itinerary, and the whereabouts of an alleged companion. She displayed clear discomfort and nervousness, leading to her referral to the Border Control Station at Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon.
Upon searching her luggage, authorities discovered, concealed among clothing items, four packages containing a total of 6,175.62 grams, equating to nearly 38,000 individual doses.
