A 34-year-old man has been arrested by the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) charged with multiple crimes including child sexual abuse, sexual abuse of dependent minors, and child pornography involving two children aged seven and 15 in the Leiria area.
The judicial authorities revealed that the man exploited his “friendship ties” with the victims’ family to perpetrate the abuses, which occurred both in his home and in his vehicle.
Furthermore, the suspect coerced the young boy and the teenager into engaging in sexual activities with each other, which he filmed.
The PJ’s investigation uncovered that the seven-year-old boy was subjected to abuse for three months, while the older child, aged 15, suffered for a year.
The case was brought to the attention of the police by a relative of the younger victim. This led to home searches and the seizure of evidence, conducted by the PJ’s Criminal Investigation Department in Leiria. Following the investigation, the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Leiria issued an arrest warrant for the suspect.
The man has since faced a judicial interrogation and will remain in preventive detention.
