Arrested for drug trafficking accepted stolen items as payment.

A trio of men, aged between 27 and 40, was arrested in Madeira on the morning of March 25, for drug trafficking.

The men, residents of Câmara de Lobos, were the subject of an investigation by the Public Security Police (PSP) that had been ongoing for over three years, as stated in a police report.

The arrests were made under the execution of search and seizure warrants issued by the judicial authority, resulting in the confiscation of 14 individual doses of heroin, 571 individual doses of hashish, 50 individual doses of Alpha PHP, known as Bloom, and €218.70 in cash, suspected to be of illicit origin.

“During the searches, various items were also identified, such as tools, drills, grinders, a PlayStation, among others, which are suspected to be the result of the crime of receiving stolen goods,” added the PSP. It was detailed that “these items were stolen by consumers and used as a form of payment in exchange for doses of narcotics.”

After appearing before the judicial authorities, the men were placed under Identity and Residence Terms.

This operation was conducted by the Regional Command of PSP Madeira.
