The Leiria District Command of the PSP announced in a statement that a 49-year-old victim reported incidents of “domestic violence” on May 13, highlighting “physical assaults and threats by the suspect.”
During the investigation, officers from the Leiria Criminal Investigation Squad found that the assaults reported in May had been occurring for several years, also involving the victim’s daughter, who is currently 19 years old, according to the statement.
On Wednesday, the PSP executed an arrest warrant for the suspect, not caught in the act, issued by the Public Prosecution Service.
During the first judicial interrogation, the investigating judge imposed coercive measures on the suspect, including a prohibition on contacting the woman by any means and an order barring him from the residence of the victims.
