A 21-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday after being caught attempting to enter the Setúbal Prison Facility with drugs hidden inside a loaf of bread.
The arrest in flagrante delicto took place during visiting hours, as announced in a statement from the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) to the press.
“During the access control process, a substance suspected to be hashish was found concealed inside a loaf of bread, along with several pills hidden inside a package”, the statement detailed.
Given the suspicion of the “illicit nature of the goods,” the PJ was called and confirmed them to be narcotics.
The young man, who was apprehended in collaboration with the Setúbal Prison Guard, has no criminal record and will now appear for a preliminary judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
