The Food and Economic Security Authority has also opened criminal proceedings for the crime of operating games of chance outside legally authorized premises.
The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) arrested three people for exploiting and practicing games of chance in the municipality of Guimarães, in the district of Braga.
According to a statement sent to Notícias ao Minuto, the arrests followed an operation to combat illegal gambling and crime prevention, carried out by the Northern Regional Unit – Barcelos Operational Unit.
“The action resulted in the opening of 1 criminal case for the crime of exploiting games of chance outside legally authorized premises, and the arrest of 3 suspects,” explain those responsible.
During the operation, two gaming machines with an estimated commercial value of 7,000.00 euros were also seized, as well as 250.00 euros in cash, which was inside the equipment.
