The nationwide operation ‘Operação Águas Limpas’ was conducted with the aim of inspecting the conditions under which water for human consumption is provided, as announced today by the Food and Economic Safety Authority (ASAE).
A total of 57 economic operators were inspected, primarily focusing on food and beverage establishments, retailers, wholesalers, and industries.
“Regarding the infractions identified, the activity of five operators was suspended due to non-compliance with hygiene requirements, violation of the obligations of the establishment’s managing entity, and failure to meet infrastructure requirements,” stated ASAE in a communiqué.
During this operation, 20 kilograms of meat products were seized due to failing to meet food product requirements, valued at approximately one hundred euros.
