The total value of the seized items is estimated at approximately 91,500 euros.
A total of 106 economic operators were inspected, resulting in 18 criminal cases mainly related to the illegal operation of games of chance outside legally authorized venues. The charges include the illegal practice of these games, the manufacturing, advertising, importation, transportation, transaction, display, or dissemination of materials and tools intended for their practice, as well as cases of speculation.
Additionally, 24 administrative offense cases were initiated, with the main infractions involving unauthorized operation of games of chance, violation of general duties by operating entities, and the operation of these modalities by profit-seeking entities.
Operation Croupier specifically targeted illegal gaming activities, aiming to identify instances of illegal game operation and practice in unauthorized locations.
According to the ASAE, four individuals detained during the operation have been placed under identity and residence terms (TIR).

Earlier this week, another announcement noted the closure of an illegal industrial establishment in the Vila Real district. Authorities seized over 17 tons of various animal-origin foodstuffs, valued at approximately 115,000 euros.
This action was part of a compliance inspection operation targeting food storage establishments in the district, with the goal of ensuring adherence to legal food safety standards.

The operation by ASAE was conducted through the Northern Regional Unit’s Industry Brigade – Operational Unit of Mirandela.
