The Mercurius Operation was carried out by ASAE’s regional units targeting economic operators selling MBV in markets and retail establishments, aiming to combat criminal offenses against public health and ensure food safety, according to a statement.
As a result of the operation, ASAE reported the initiation of a criminal case for speculation and nine administrative offense proceedings, mainly due to non-compliance with marketing, traceability, or hygiene regulations.
Additionally, 12 weighing instruments were seized for lack of metrological control.
