ASAE suspends activity of four establishments in Cascais

The Food and Economic Safety Authority (ASAE) suspended the activities of four economic operators on Monday in Cascais after auditing seven operators and initiating five administrative offense proceedings.

In a statement released to newsrooms, ASAE explained that an inspection operation was carried out to verify compliance with legal requirements for licensing, hygiene, and food safety in catering and beverage establishments to ensure food safety, public health, and consumer protection.

In the course of this operation, seven economic operators were inspected, resulting in five administrative offense proceedings, with violations including the failure of operators’ duties and non-compliance with general and specific hygiene requirements highlighted.

“Due to the non-compliance with general and specific hygiene requirements detected in the establishments, the immediate suspension of activities of four economic operators was decreed, and due to the lack of traceability, approximately 8 kg of already cooked meat and 22 liters of sauces were seized,” the statement read.

Operation Restoran was conducted in collaboration with the Municipal Police of Cascais and the Public Health Office of the Cascais City Council.
