
During a hearing at the Budget, Finance, and Public Administration Committee, Margarida Corrêa de Aguiar advocated for the creation of specific disaster funds and stated, “It is essential that the insurance sector is prepared for the increasing frequency and severity of these events.”
The official emphasized that adapting the sector to these risks is a social and economic priority, highlighting the importance of policies and instruments that ensure adequate coverage in emergency situations.
Margarida Corrêa de Aguiar’s term, which began in 2019, ends this year. In July, Gabriel Bernardino was nominated to succeed her as the leader of ASF.
