A 25-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of last Thursday in Lisbon on suspicion of robbery, as reported by the Public Security Police (PSP). He has been placed in preventive detention.
An alert about a robbery in the Mouraria area was issued at around 4:30 a.m. Officers arriving at the scene found two men engaged in a physical confrontation, namely the suspect and the victim.
After the altercation ended, the officers discovered that the suspect, with the assistance of another man, managed to overpower the 26-year-old victim. The suspect allegedly used a cobblestone to assault the victim and forcibly took “a bag” from which “a mobile phone, personal documents, and 40 euros” were stolen.
However, according to the PSP, only one of the suspects was apprehended.
The detainee was taken to the detention facilities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP (COMETLIS) and was later brought before Lisbon’s Judicial Court, where he was remanded in custody.
