Two young men, aged 18 and 22, have been detained on suspicion of two attempted homicides and assaults in Lisbon, as revealed by the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) in a statement issued on Monday, April 14.
According to investigators, the incident dates back to February 3 and involves two victims, aged 17 and 23.
The PJ reports that the events unfolded in a residential neighborhood of the capital. The assailants and victims became embroiled in a conflict stemming from “rivalries between youth groups,” during which the suspects allegedly opened fire on the two other young individuals, “inflicting serious injuries that required hospital treatment.”
The PJ seized two firearms from the suspects, which are believed to have been used in the crimes.
Both suspects have already been brought before a judicial hearing and have been remanded in custody.
