The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) announced today that rainfall is expected to commence Saturday night along the northern and central coasts, gradually spreading across the rest of the country by Sunday.
“As the frontal surface passes, intense localized precipitation may occur, particularly in northern and central coastal regions, especially likely by the end of the morning,” the statement notes.
The maximum temperature is expected to drop sharply on Sunday, between six to ten degrees in the interior and three to six degrees on the coast.
Temperatures are projected to range between 23 and 27 degrees, with minimum temperatures showing no significant changes, although both remain below the normal range for this time of year.
For the upcoming days, IPMA predicts continued passage of frontal waves in the North and Center, with additional rainfall expected until the middle of next week.
