Attention, drivers! Avenida Marginal (and not only there) closed to traffic

The Avenida Marginal will be closed to traffic nearly all day on Saturday, October 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This closure is due to the Ironman Portugal Cascais event. On the official page, local authorities clarify that the traffic cut will affect “Avenida Marginal along its entire stretch, between Praia da Torre and Algés, and the EN6-1, between Alto da Boa Viagem and the access to the tribune of Estádio Nacional”. Additionally, “Avenida Ferreira Godinho will be closed during the restriction period”.

Estimates suggest approximately four thousand individuals will participate in the competition, which will take them through the municipalities of Lisbon, Oeiras, and Sintra during the cycling segment.
