The onset of a new week brings anticipated fluctuations in fuel prices, which will differ based on the type of vehicle fuel, according to the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP).
Predictions indicate that the price of gasoline is expected to rise by 2.5 cents starting Monday, urging motorists to refuel by Sunday.
In contrast, diesel drivers might benefit by refueling on Monday, as the price of diesel is expected to decrease by 0.5 cents per liter.
Data from the Direção Geral de Energia e Geologia (DGEG) indicates that, as of Friday, August 1st, the average price for a liter of diesel in Portugal was 1.59 euros, while gasoline was priced at 1.678 euros.
The ACP further notes, “If the forecasts for the next week are confirmed, the average price of regular diesel is expected to drop to 1.585 €/l, whereas the price of regular gasoline 95 will be set at 1.703 €/l.”
These predictions assume the continuation of the government’s extraordinary tax reduction measures to offset rising prices.
