Attention! Sporting activities close the Marginal between Cascais and Lisbon

The Avenida Marginal, connecting the municipalities of Cascais, Oeiras, and Lisbon, will be closed to traffic on Sunday morning due to the event ‘Get Moving on the Marginal,’ announced the Lisbon City Council.

According to a statement from the Lisbon City Council, the Avenida Marginal will be closed to traffic from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., between Parede (Cascais) and Alcântara (Lisbon).

“In total, there will be more than 15 km of sports activities for all ages, from Alcântara (Lisbon) to Parede (Cascais), crossing the entire waterfront of the Oeiras municipality,” the statement said.

The event is organized by the municipalities of Cascais, Oeiras, and Lisbon and is recreational and sporting in nature, aiming to “encourage physical exercise and the adoption of healthy lifestyles,” with activities including walking, running, cycling, roller skating, as well as riverside events.

The municipality also mentioned that along the route there will be activities ranging from climbing to Pilates, tennis to surfing, sailing to orienteering, along with group classes, fitness circuits, health screenings, inflatables, pedal vehicles, and traditional games.
