The event, offering free admission and a varied program, aims to transform the Serralves Park into a hub of art, nature, and ancient traditions linked to Earth, with activities that combine artistic expression, innovation, and environmental awareness.
According to the schedule, on Saturday, Serralves Park will host musical performances by Djonsaba Kanut at 13:30, Cantes Malditos at 15:30, and Bateu Matou at 18:00.
On Sunday, the second day of the event, music will begin with the Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa at 11:30, followed by a performance from Emmy Curl at 17:00.
The event, which annually attracts tens of thousands of visitors to Serralves Park, also offers 24 performing arts activities, including theater, dance, and contemporary circus with the performance “A Raiz”.
With approximately 150 activities for families and audiences of all ages, the program features a children’s theater show, “Antiprincesas — Clarice Lispector”, with one session on Saturday at 11:00 and another on Sunday at 15:40, and puppet theater sessions with plays like “Ai de mim, ai doeu”, “Circumloqui”, “Palhinhas — A história de um espantalho”, “Com 3 novelos”, and “O Bonifrate”.
The 15th edition of the Autumn Festival also partners with BOIL – Climate Festival, bringing to Serralves art installations and film sessions focused on promoting climate literacy.
“Territórios de Resistência”, “Ervilha”, “Broken Wings”, and “Lindo” are some of the documentaries screening over the two-day event, which also features animated shorts from various countries and a series of discussions.
Attendees can explore poetic walks, immersive experiences, exhibitions, workshops on recycling, sustainable cooking, hat making, felting, and activities related to food and environmental education.
Family experiences also include workshops led by Serralves’ educational service, guided tours with Miranda donkeys, and visits to the farm, highlighting the “Porco Preto Português” breed.
This year’s edition will feature the participation of 20 founding municipalities and offer 30 workshops focused on culture and tradition.
The Bio Market and Autumn Market will enhance the sustainable aspect by offering national ecological flavors and products.
On the final day of the event, a presentation of the book “Outonecer” by Júlio Machado Vaz and a conversation between the author and Manuel Sobrinho Simões will take place at the Aromatic Garden.
