Autumn with summer temperatures. Thermometers should reach 31ºC

According to the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the coming days will be sunny with temperatures higher than usual for this time of the year across Portugal, potentially reaching 31ºC in several districts.

On Monday, the sky will range from slightly cloudy to clear. Meteorologists predict rain only for some Azorean islands.

Temperatures are expected to reach 30ºC in Beja, Évora, and Santarém, and 29ºC in Lisbon, Setúbal, and Braga. In Porto, the maximum temperature will be 24ºC.

For Tuesday, October 14, IPMA forecasts similar conditions. The sky will be cloudier on the mainland, while temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 30ºC in Braga, Santarém, Setúbal, Évora, and Beja. Lisbon will maintain a high of 29ºC, and Porto will rise to 25ºC.

On Wednesday, October 15, a slight temperature increase is expected in some districts, reaching 31ºC in Beja, Évora, and Santarém, and 30ºC in Braga. Lisbon will hold steady at 29ºC, and Porto at 25ºC.

Meanwhile, mainland Portugal is expected to have high clouds in the Center and South, and a “partially cloudy” sky in the North.

In the Azores, rain is expected across the islands, and in Madeira, the sky will be “partially cloudy.”

While the beginning of the week feels like summer, the end may start to resemble autumn. According to IPMA, from Thursday onwards, there will be increased cloud cover and a drop in temperatures. Rain may occur over the weekend, especially in the North. For now, enjoy the warm weather.
