
The document was approved by a majority, with 22 votes in favor from PSD, two from CDS-PP, and one from PPM. It faced opposition from BE (one), IL (one), and PAN (one), while PS abstained with 22 votes, along with five from Chega.
The general vote on the document took place today during the plenary session of the Legislative Assembly in Horta, Faial Island, after three days of debate.
The 2026 Budget will now be discussed in detail, followed by the final vote on the document presented by the regional executive of the PSD/CDS-PP/PPM coalition, led by Social Democrat José Manuel Bolieiro.
The third plans and budgets of the legislature foresee a total public investment of 1.191 billion euros, including 990.9 million euros directly overseen by the Regional Government, which highlights the execution of community funds, particularly from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), as a major goal.
The Azores parliament consists of 57 deputies, with 23 from the PSD bloc, another 23 from PS, five from Chega, two from CDS-PP, one from IL, one from PAN, one from BE, and one from PPM.
