The Regional Secretariat for Health and Social Security has announced that payments for the CAAF will commence today via bank transfer and continue until the end of the week through CTT.

“Once again, the Government of the Azores is showing its commitment to those in genuine need. For this year, we are increasing this social support by 5% compared to last year’s amount for all CAAF beneficiaries,” stated the PSD/CDS-PP/PPM coalition government in the release.

The measure will benefit 19,070 recipients, representing a total investment of 1.5 million euros in the first half of 2025.

The CAAF is a monetary supplement provided to Family Allowance holders residing in the Azores to help cover family expenses related to the upkeep and education of children and young people.

“Although the CAAF holders are the children or young people, the recipients can be parents, guardians, or institutions,” the statement clarified.

This supplemental payment is disbursed on a semi-annual basis.
