Azores Government allocates 12 infrastructured lots for housing

Initially, the public draw was intended to allocate 18 infra-structured plots, with an investment of 450 thousand euros, but out of the 22 families that applied, only 12 were awarded plots.

In a statement, the Azorean executive indicated that three families withdrew, and seven were excluded for not meeting the defined requirements of the program.

According to the Government of the Azores (PSD/CDS-PP/PPM), the plots are intended for the construction of T3 single-family homes.

As quoted in the statement, the regional secretary for Youth, Housing and Employment mentioned that this measure “puts into practice the commitment made by the Government of the Azores for decent housing.”

“We are transforming intentions into concrete actions, creating real opportunities for Azoreans to build their future on their islands,” stated Maria João Carreiro.

The official considered that the housing challenge “requires a firm and strategic response,” which is why the Azorean executive “is fulfilling, with rigor and a vision for the future, the objectives set with the Azoreans.”

The allocation of plots is made within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), which includes the provision of 145 infra-structured plots in the region until June 2026.
