
The Regional Government of the Azores expressed its “profound sorrow” on Thursday, November 6, over the death of Dr. Carlos Alexandre Muge Lima, a specialist in radiology and a prominent figure in the Azores Health Service.
Regional Secretary of Health and Social Security, Mónica Seidi, noted in a message of condolence that Carlos Lima, who dedicated over four decades to medicine, “performed his duties with excellence, dedication, and humanity,” notably as the director of the Imaging Department at Santo Espírito Hospital on Terceira Island.
Carlos Lima left “an indelible mark on the quality of care provided and the training of generations of health professionals,” with his career “marked by an unwavering commitment to public service.”
“Dr. Carlos Lima will be remembered not only for his technical brilliance but also for his integrity, humility, and sense of mission,” she stated.
