“There was a need to rehouse 16 people (in Terceira, São Jorge, Pico, Faial, and Graciosa islands), with no injuries reported so far,” the Azores Civil Protection stated in a press release this morning.
Since midnight, the service has recorded “196 incidents, of which 136 have already been resolved.”
“The majority of reported incidents are related to fallen trees, collapsed structures, and damage to roofs,” they explained.
