
A baby died on Thursday upon arrival at Leiria Hospital after the mother was transported from the village of Valado dos Frades to the reference unit.
The incident was confirmed by the Nazaré Volunteer Firefighters, who were called to the situation and transported the woman, who gave birth in the ambulance.
The situation unfolded in the morning, and the alert to the fire department was received through the Urgent Patient Guidance Center.
The pregnant woman, at 26 weeks, reportedly experienced bleeding and contractions without the rupture of membranes, according to reports.
In addition to the Nazaré Volunteer Firefighters, Immediate Life Support units were dispatched to the location.
