The Lisbon Municipal Civil Protection Service reported that 42 of these incidents were related to the atmospheric event, with two still active as of 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

The numbers recorded by the Lisbon Municipal Civil Protection Service, Lisbon Fire Brigade, and Lisbon Municipal Police highlighted a total of seven road accidents, ten floods, nine public space floods, ten fallen trees, three private space floods, two structural collapses, and one falling facade.

Lisbon remains under a yellow warning due to sea disturbances until 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

Mainland Portugal and the Madeira archipelago are experiencing rain, wind, and sea disturbances due to depression Bram, with the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) issuing warnings.

The IPMA stated that depression Bram (named by the Irish Meteorological Service) formed in the western Atlantic and is moving east towards the Azores archipelago before heading towards Ireland.

According to the IPMA, “this depression is associated with a moderately to strongly active cold front surface, which will gradually cross mainland territory from the afternoon of the 9th [today], from northwest to southeast, passing in the southern region only during the early hours/morning of the 10th [Wednesday].”

This situation will lead to persistent and occasionally heavy rain across most of mainland territory, starting this morning in Minho and Douro Litoral, gradually spreading to other regions.

Additionally, this episode will be accompanied by strong southern quadrant winds along the west coast and in highlands until mid-afternoon today, with gusts between 70 and 90 kilometers per hour (km/h), especially in the North and Center regions.
