Bad weather causes 11 incidents on three islands of the Azores.

By 6:00 PM local time (one hour more in Lisbon), 11 incidents were reported in the archipelago, including four on the island of Terceira, four on São Miguel, and three on the island of Pico.

The incidents are related to fallen trees, flooding in homes, and structural damages.

“So far, we have no reports of injuries,” the source told Lusa.

All islands in the Azores archipelago are under a yellow warning, the third most severe on the scale, due to rain and maritime agitation, with an additional yellow warning for wind affecting seven of the nine islands.

The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has placed the Western group islands (Flores and Corvo) under a yellow warning due to the possibility of heavy rain until 5:00 PM local time (6:00 PM in Lisbon) today and due to wind until 8:00 PM.

The warning related to maritime agitation is in effect until 11:00 AM on Friday.

In the Central group (Terceira, Graciosa, São Jorge, Faial, and Pico), the warnings for rain and wind continue until 8:00 PM today, and the maritime agitation warning lasts until 5:00 PM on Friday.

The Eastern group (São Miguel and Santa Maria) is under a yellow warning due to the chance of heavy precipitation until 11:00 PM today and due to maritime agitation until 5:00 PM on Friday.
