
The five districts are now under an orange weather alert, the second level on a three-tier scale, until 3:00 PM today, during which time “heavy and persistent rainfall” is expected.
The districts of Castelo Branco, Lisbon, Portalegre, and Santarém remain under a yellow alert, the least severe, for heavy rain until 3:00 PM, while in Porto, this alert ends at noon.
The weather in mainland Portugal, particularly in the northern and central regions, is being affected by the impacts of Depression Benjamim.
Today, the IPMA forecasts very cloudy or overcast skies, with sometimes heavy and persistent rain in the North and Center regions, and lighter rainfall in Baixo Alentejo and Algarve.
A slight decrease in maximum temperatures is also expected in the North, Center, and Algarve regions.
