
A bank in Montoito, Redondo municipality, in Évora, was targeted by an armed robbery on Thursday, confirmed by the Notícias ao Minuto with information from the National Republican Guard (GNR).
The robbery took place at a Crédito Agrícola bank branch shortly before 9:00 am.
The Judiciary Police (PJ) was contacted and is present at the scene.
Authorities are currently conducting efforts to locate the suspects, who are on the run.
A police source informed Lusa that the robbery involved “three masked individuals, one of whom was armed.”
“The bank branch staff know that money was taken, but the amount is not yet known, and the suspects fled in a vehicle,” the source added.
No injuries were reported.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, a bank in Palmela also fell victim to an armed robbery.
