The CODU has announced that “the Hospital do Barreiro will suspend the Emergency Obstetrics Service and Maternity Ward, making it impossible to receive patients from 08:00 on 09/07/2025 to 08:00 on 19/07/2025.”
In its communication, CODU also requests that medical emergency services within the Hospital do Barreiro’s area of influence provide patient clinical data “for proper hospital referral.”
The Hospital do Barreiro has promised to provide an explanation today regarding the reasons for the prolonged closure of the Emergency Obstetrics Service and Maternity Ward.
Efforts to reach the Executive Directorate of the National Health Service (SNS) were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
