The central bank has updated the essential information that institutions must present for authorization requests to serve as members of management and supervisory bodies, as well as for other requests.
“Overall, the aim of this change is to promote a swifter and more complete analysis of authorization processes for serving as members of management and supervisory bodies of supervised institutions, in order to enhance the efficiency of these processes,” states the central bank.
Changes include the exemption and simplification of certain elements for proper evaluation concerning members reappointed for a new term, applicable to supervised institutions that have not experienced changes in content since the last authorization request or, if applicable, subsequent communications.
“Additionally, measures have been introduced to encourage the timely submission of authorization requests to serve in these roles. These include deadlines to prevent the unintended and unjustified extension of mandates, resulting in members serving for an extended period beyond their term or the appointment of new members chosen for a new term at the General Assembly,” the document states.
This alteration followed a public consultation process, which took place from April 24, 2025, to June 9, 2025.
