On Sunday, the leader of IL was struck with green powder during a rally in Lisbon by two activists who appeared on stage holding a banner against fossil fuels.
After an exchange of words and a handshake between Rui Rocha and the two activists, one young person sprayed green paint onto Rocha’s face and torso. Subsequently, both activists were escorted off the stage by IL’s team.
Meanwhile, IL has announced plans to file a complaint against the two activists and is working to identify them.
