Following the conclusion of the convention in Lisbon, the newly elected National Board convened for the first time and elected the Blocist Political Commission, which ensures daily leadership.

According to Motion A, which won the major assembly, the coordination of the Political Commission will be overseen by the head of the most voted list for the National Board of the Left Bloc, José Manuel Pureza.

The body, previously composed of 21 members, now includes 27 participants, featuring a mix of 19 new faces and eight who remain from the previous term.

Motion A elected the majority of members, 23, supplemented by four bloc affiliates from two opposing motions: Alexandra Vieira, Jorge Humberto Nogueira, and Nuno Pinheiro from Motion S, and Samuel Cardoso from Motion H.

Remaining in the leadership are notable figures such as Isabel Pires (nominated as party organization secretary), the former parliamentary leader who will likely replace Mariana Mortágua in parliament in 2026, Fabian Figueiredo, presidential candidate Catarina Martins, Andreia Galvão, Joana Mortágua, José Soeiro, Marisa Matias, and Miguel Cardina.

New entrants include José Manuel Pureza, who was not part of the previous body, along with blocists like former MEP Anabela Rodrigues, former parliamentary member in the Assembly of the Republic Maria Manuel Rola, former adviser João Curvelo, and Bruno Góis, as well as several young members like António Soares, Joana Neiva, Beatriz Realinho, and current parliamentary adviser Daniel Borges.

Departing from leadership is outgoing coordinator Mariana Mortágua—remaining solely in the National Board—along with key figures such as Jorge Costa, José Gusmão, Leonor Rosas, Pedro Filipe Soares, and Moisés Ferreira.
