“Biggest incorporation in the last 4 years”. Army with 321 new recruits

This week, the Portuguese Army incorporated 321 recruit soldiers, marking what is described as “the largest recruitment of recruit soldiers in the last four years.”

“The new recruit soldiers were distributed among the Military Emergency Support Regiment (RAME), Infantry Regiment No. 1 (RI1), Infantry Regiment No. 19 (RI19), Paratrooper Regiment (RPara), and Garrison Regiments No. 2 and No. 3 (RG2 and RG3),” the Army noted in a statement sent to Notícias ao Minuto on Thursday.

As explained by this branch of the Armed Forces, “this result reflects the strengthening of human resources appreciation measures, the intensification of recruitment activities, and the modernization of training, contributing to the enrichment of the ranks and operational readiness.”

The Portuguese Army further details the path these recruits will now follow, explaining that approximately 300 soldiers will soon join the 6th General Common Training Course for Soldiers (CFGC-P), a phase of adaptation to military life that precedes assignment to units and the performance of designated missions.

“The Army emphasizes that the training centers have the necessary human and material resources to ensure the instruction and qualification of the new soldiers, promoting values such as honor, loyalty, discipline, readiness, and courage,” the statement concludes.
