The South Korean band Blackpink returned to the stage on Saturday, July 5, after nearly two years. Their world tour, named ‘Deadline,’ commenced in South Korea at the Goyang Stadium.
The concert, held on both Saturday and Sunday, attracted approximately 78,000 fans eagerly awaiting the reunion of the four members—Rosé, Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo.
Over two hours, the K-pop group performed 27 songs, including some of their biggest hits such as ‘Kill This Love,’ ‘Pink Venom,’ and ‘How You Like That.’
The members also showcased their solo songs. Jisoo performed ‘Earthquake’ and ‘Your Love,’ while Lisa energized the stadium with ‘New Woman’ and ‘Rockstar.’ The audience sang along with Jennie to ‘Mantra’ and ‘Like Jennie.’ Rosé thrilled fans with ‘APT,’ ‘3AM,’ and ‘Toxic Till the End.’
“We were excited and a bit nervous to showcase this mix of group and solo performances,” said Jisoo in an interview.
Blackpink also premiered their new single ‘Jump,’ delighting the fans. “This song is super addictive, isn’t it?” Jisoo asked the crowd, mentioning that the band wanted the fans “to be the first to hear it.”
“We are very grateful to kick off our tour in Goyang. It’s a bittersweet feeling, but we can’t wait to meet the Blinks [Blackpink’s fans] from around the world soon,” stated Jennie.
The Blackpink concert at Goyang Stadium marked one of the largest audiences ever. Among the attendees were several K-pop artists, including J-Hope from BTS.
