The South Korean band Blackpink returned to the stage on Saturday, July 5, after nearly two years. The group is embarking on a world tour named ‘Deadline’ and kicked off the series in South Korea at the Goyang Stadium.
The concert, held over two days (Saturday and Sunday), drew approximately 78,000 fans, eager to see the four members—Rosé, Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo—reunited.
For two hours, the K-pop group performed 27 songs from a setlist that included some of their biggest hits, such as ‘Kill This Love’, ‘Pink Venom’, and ‘How You Like That’.
In between, the members also performed their solo tracks. Jisoo showcased ‘Earthquake’ and ‘Your Love’, while Lisa energized the stadium with ‘New Woman’ and ‘Rockstar’. Jennie led the audience in ‘Mantra’ and ‘Like Jennie’, and Rosé echoed with hits ‘APT’, ‘3AM’, and ‘Toxic Till the End’.
“We were excited and a bit nervous to present this mix of group and solo performances,” Jisoo mentioned in an interview.
Blackpink also debuted their new single ‘Jump’, which thrilled the fans. “This song is super addictive, isn’t it?” Jisoo asked the crowd, adding that the band wanted the fans “to be the first to hear it”.
“We are very grateful to kick off our tour in Goyang. It’s a bittersweet feeling, but we can’t wait to meet the Blinks [as Blackpink fans are known] around the world soon,” Jennie expressed.
The Blackpink concert at Goyang Stadium marked one of the largest audiences in history. Several K-pop artists, including BTS member J-Hope, were present in the audience.

Who are Blackpink?
Blackpink is a girl group formed by YG Entertainment, one of the largest producers in the K-pop industry. The quartet—Rosé, Jisoo, Lisa, and Jennie—debuted in August 2016 with the album ‘Square One’.
The group is one of the most successful in South Korea and internationally, with each member also regarded as a fashion icon, involved in advertising campaigns and considered influencers.
Before their debut, the four young women—common practice in such groups—spent several years training in singing and dancing, learning various languages, and performing on stage.
The four members come from different nationalities and backgrounds. Jennie, aged 29, was born and spent her early years in South Korea before moving to New Zealand to study from ages nine to 14.
Jisoo, aged 30, is the group leader and is also South Korean. Besides music, she is an actress and starred in the JTBC series Snowdrop from 2021 to 2022.
Rosé, 28, is the daughter of South Korean parents who lived in New Zealand, her birthplace, but her childhood and youth were spent in Australia. Lastly, Lisa, aged 28, the group’s rapper, hails from Thailand.
