“As this governance increasingly leans to the right, with a cheque endorsed by PS through a harsh abstention, as it is a budget that penalizes people to provide tax benefits to the banks, and because it is a very opaque budget, to put it mildly, the Left Bloc will vote against the State Budget in general,” announced Mariana Mortágua at a press conference at the national headquarters in Lisbon.
Mariana Mortágua announced on Saturday that she is not available to run again for the coordination position but will remain as the sole deputy until the end of the budgetary process in parliament, which concludes at the end of November.
The general vote on the State Budget proposal for 2026 is scheduled for Tuesday.
