The campaign, titled ‘Donate to Teach and Save,’ kicks off on Friday with the aim of educating the public about the importance and process of body donation.
“Being a sensitive topic, it is urgent to inform the public about its importance and, above all, about the simplicity and dignity of the entire process,” states a press release on the campaign’s launch.
Initially, the campaign will be promoted on the social media platforms of the involved institutions and subsequently through media outlets.
The initiative is in collaboration with the Local Health Units associated with the Academic Clinical Center.
“The study of human bodies is crucial for the advancement of medical science and the training of future healthcare professionals. Donation, framed within national legislation, is a simple process that should be formalized during one’s lifetime,” notes the release.
“The campaign is based on the importance of the legacy for future generations and the altruism inherent in donating a body for teaching medical students and other health professionals,” it concludes.
All citizens can donate their bodies for teaching and scientific research, enabling the training of healthcare professionals.
