A body in an “advanced state of decomposition” was discovered near the facilities of the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Public Security Police (PSP) in Lisbon, at Forte do Alto do Duque, on Wednesday morning.
The information was initially made public by Correio da Manhã and confirmed to Notícias ao Minuto by a police source, who stated that the body was found around 11 a.m. by officers from the same division.
The body is identified as an elderly male who was wearing a wristband from the Hospital São Francisco Xavier.
It is noteworthy that the hospital and this PSP division are less than a kilometer apart (approximately a three-minute drive).
According to the same source, there is no information yet on whether the body has been removed from the site, which is closed to the public. A PSP source confirmed to Lusa that the case is now under the jurisdiction of the Judicial Police (PJ).
