A report of the victim’s disappearance was filed around 11:00 PM on Saturday.
Initial searches were conducted on land, but “evidence” suggested the victim might have gone fishing, prompting a focus on the Rabaçal River.
According to Alto Tamega and Barroso sub-regional command, a diving team from Mirandela recovered the individual approximately six meters from where he is believed to have fallen.
Alongside the National Republican Guard (GNR), 33 personnel from the Valpaços and Mirandela Volunteer Fire Departments, supported by 14 vehicles, were deployed to the scene.
